    Mission of the Role:

    Organise, lead, and motivate a PD Team in the development and delivery of an Electronics project in line with agreed Cost, Quality, and Timing commitments.

    Key Objectives of this Role: Job Purpose:

    • Lead all Product Development activities on the allocated project;
    • Have indirect leadership responsibility for all Product Development project team members;
    • Develop a schedule of PD activities and track delivery of the activities, reporting out status to the project manager and/or others as required;
    • Perform technical risk and issue analysis and management, and ensure appropriate escalation for resolution where needed;
    • Lead configuration and change management activities for the product development team;
    • Provide PD Impact analysis to the Project Manager for customer driven changes;
    • Conduct Product Design release planning and activities using standard Visteon tools (EBOM, GBC, etc.);
    • Provide technical liaison with customers (and suppliers where appropriate) as the first point of contact;
    • Lead in the identification and resolution of technical product development issues;
    • Manage and report Project Resources and Expenditure vs. agreed targets;
    • Support Program Managers through adherence to the CDP/VPDS processes and the timely completion of gate deliverables.

    Job Critical Context:

    • A complex, changing environment with remote customers, requiring some travel;
    • Organizational challenges and time-pressured deliverables;
    • Diverse and often geographically remote team;
    • Complex, embedded electronics technology;
    • Delivering high visual impact;
    • Customer-focused and customer driven environment;
    • The successful applicant may also be required to support the customer pursuit teams in an effort to secure further business opportunities and regular face-to-face technical design reviews would be expected to be supported at the customer location.

    Qualification, Experience and Skills:

    • Project Management, Engineering Degree, or relevant experience;
    • Knowledge of Structured Product Development and Quality Toolsets (e.g. VEP, VPDS,6-Sigma, LEAN);
    • Significant experience with demonstrated leadership in a project;
    • Experience in Electronics Product Development Engineering;
    • Project Planning and Control skills, including Requirements and Change Management;
    • Active team leadership and motivation/coordination of others;
    • Sound Business Acumen;
    • IT literate including MS Office.

    Reporting Structure: Direct report to the Chief Engineer – English OEMs.
