Senior software engineer – Kotlin / Java

Position for one of the biggest tour operators in Europe DER Touristik as part of DER Touristik Online Bulgaria.

We are now expanding our teams with our new position: Senior Software Engineer Kotlin (JAVA)

Project: Customer Account and Reservation platform

What you will do:

• Contribute to our Microservice architecture deployed in AWS Cloud.
• Develop and deploy backend services with Spring Boot 3 and Java 17.
• Use infrastructure based on Docker, Kubernetes, Gradle, Gitlab, etc.
• Participate in code reviews, pair programming, knowledge exchange with your colleagues.
• Participation in the design of software architectures.
• Participation in product development and concept discussion.
• Active participation in agile work processes from planning to implementation.
• Participation in internal and external tech communities.
• Apply good practices in alerting and monitoring rules for services.
• Learn new things every day.

What we are looking for:

• Understanding of
  ○ Core Java (collections, I/O, concurrency, generics)
  ○ Core Kotlin concepts
  ○ Spring Framework (Spring Boot, Spring Data, Spring Security)
• Test frameworks – JUnit, Mockito, Spring MVC
• SQL (MySQL or other RDBMS), Hibernate
• Design of REST API-s, OAuth 2.0
• 4+ years experience with some of the above
• Good knowledge of version control practices
• Good understanding of CI / CD pipelines

Any of the following is a plus:

• Experience with front-end frameworks as React, Angular
• Kafka, RabbitMQ, AWS SQS or similar
• Experience in cloud environment, preferably AWS Cloud
• Prometheus, Grafana, Alert Manager, Datadog
