Senior Back-end Developer with PHP

Active across Europe, Centre for Distance Learning, has divisions in Belgium, the Netherlands, France and Bulgaria.

For our office in Varna, Bulgaria, Centre for Distance Learning is looking for a motivated (m/f): Senior Back-End Developer

As a Back-End Developer, you are going to join a development team working on a new web based system, support already existing websites and systems as well as develop integration with external
websites and data providers. You will monitor and implement your assigned tasks with precision, communicate clearly with colleagues and superiors, and deliver impeccable quality in your work. You will use software that will be used both internally and externally by customers.

Responsibilities:

• Be involved and participate in the overall application lifecycle;
• Focus on coding and debugging;
• Collaborate with Front-end developers;
• Define and communicate technical and design requirements;
• Build high-quality reusable code that can be used in the future and across our platforms;
• Develop functional and sustainable web applications with clean code;
• Troubleshoot and debug applications;
• Stay up to date with current best practices;
• Conduct UI tests and optimize performance;
• Manage cutting-edge technologies to improve applications.

Requirements:

• You have a minimum of 3 years of development experience with PHP programming (7.x);
• Experience with common PHP frameworks – Laravel, CodeIgniter;
• Advanced skills in GIT;
• Strong understanding of object-oriented programming and MVC pattern;
• Strong database knowledge, specifically MySQL knowledge;
• Bonus will be some experience with Angular >= 8;
• Working with Linux is also a bonus;
• Critical thinker and problem-solving skills;
• In-depth understanding of web development;
• Good written and verbal communication skills in the English language are a must;
• You have a winner's mentality full of enthusiasm to make your job a success;
• A team player.

Preferred, but not essential:

• HTML / JS proficiency is highly desirable;
• List of previous projects that you were involved in (with a significant conversions increase or other positive statistics);
• BA degree in Computer Science or similar relevant field;
• Portfolio of past projects.
