Java Developer (Travel and Transportation sphere)

Currently we are looking for experienced Java Developers to join our growing team in Bulgaria.

• Java version: 17
• Frameworks: Spring Boot, Hibernate, JPA

• GCP (Google cloud), Terraform
• IaC and pipelines

Your Essential Duties will include:

• Propose effective and scalable solutions, considering factors such as performance, security, and maintainability.
• Collaborate with client Lead and team members to evaluate different approaches.
• Actively participate in architecture and design discussions.
• Define and document technical architectures that meet business requirements..
• Ensure that the chosen architecture aligns with industry best practices and standards.
• Work closely with product owners and other teams to clarify technical requirements and use cases.
• Ensure a clear understanding of feature specifications and expectations.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to bridge communication gaps.
• Provide technical insights to ensure that use cases are technically feasible and aligned with project goals.

The technical skillset we are looking for would be:

• 5+ years of software engineering experience with Java. A recent focus on Java 17 is preferred.
• Familiarity with SQL / NoSQL storage, ability to reason about their strengths and weaknesses (PostgreSQL, Redis, MongoDB).
• Familiarity with the QA processes in software development.
• Stakeholder management skills (product).
• Past engineering experience running high-load and high-uptime services in production.
• Past engineering experience with data-intensive systems and data-driven products.
• Level of English – from Upper-Intermediate (spoken/written).

Preferred Qualifications:

• Software security, secure coding practices, PII management.
• Airline domain experience.
• Experience with Cloud platforms like GCP (preferred) or AWS is a plus.
• Experience with Observability using Datadog (preferred), NewRelic, or Prometheus.
• Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, and Linux systems.
• Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code, such as Terraform (preferred).
• Familiarity with modern CI/CD
